Students are part of a project team and exposed to actual day-to-day design. They work on a wide variety of project types and sizes currently in design; gain real-world design experience with multiple structural materials; experience hands-on mentorship; and attend Mackenzie’s in-house training programs. 

Typical work for a structural intern at Mackenzie includes producing structural calculations (both by hand and with design software), assisting project engineers and drafting staff in generation of permit drawings, and attending site visits to active construction sites to view work in progress. This position requires the ability to work concurrently on multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment.
