The endeavor included two distinct projects: the repositioning of the northeast tower’s lobby and the creation of a new multipurpose common room on the 25th floor of the southeast tower. The projects resulted in new communal space with a sharp focus on the property’s incredible view of the Seattle waterfront and Olympic peninsula, nurturing community within the buildings and providing a valuable connection to the outside world.
DESIGN DRIVERS
The space on the top floor of the southeast tower, dubbed the “Vertex Room” by Equity, was created by combining and remodeling two penthouse apartments, resulting in a brand-new amenity available to all tenants.
The design carefully accentuates dramatic views of downtown, the Seattle Art Museum, Benaroya Hall, the Puget Sound, the Great Wheel, and the Olympic Mountains. The space includes a glass-front conference room, an open kitchen with concealed appliances and a large island, two new public restrooms, and two outdoor decks.
For the northeast tower’s lobby, the project increased the useable area of the lobby and adjacent conference room, with lounge areas for small groups, high tables with library lighting and high stools for working seated or standing, and a 30’ bench by the windows.
The lobby features views of the neighboring Harbor Steps towers, and the remodel’s new color scheme subtly reflects the buildings.
