Gradin Community Sports Park is a 32-acre site in east Gresham with open spaces and scenic views of Mt. Hood and nearby buttes.

The design enables multi-generational recreation, creates a welcoming and attractive aesthetic, and ensures the park's spaces are accessible to everyone. The new facility's ability to host tournaments and draw participants will create new economic and cultural value for the community.

Mackenzie’s design, in collaboration with the City of Gresham, will improve a cherished community asset and establish a regional destination for soccer and softball tournaments.

DESIGN DRIVERS

The design implements findings from the 2008 master plan, including new, tournament-ready sports facilities and the activation of underutilized spaces.

The park creates regional economic value with the addition of two new soccer fields, two new softball fields and a corridor plaza.
The team's design, in collaboration with the City of Gresham, enables multi-generational recreation by expanding the park's sports facility types to include pickleball, basketball, and volleyball.
The design preserves and enhances the park’s identity as an arboretum, while increasing tree canopy across the site.
